FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

BuildIQ® Launches the Jobsite, Jobsite.BuildIQ.com

Website focused on sharing free Best Practices in Homebuilding™ information

introducing jobsite 1Pittsburgh, PA, December 13, 2007—Today, BuildIQ®, the leading online educator in Best Practices in Homebuilding™, launched a website dedicated to providing free information to production homebuilders on a variety of topics that are critical to their business performance and the quality of their homes.

“We realize that builders are pressed for time. They need answers quickly from a source they can trust,” says Michael Dickens, founder and CEO of BuildIQ. “The goal of the Jobsite is to give builders one place where they can find, share and discuss Best Practices for profitably building a higher quality, higher performance home. In the coming months, we aim to bring a new level of honesty and awareness to the Jobsite by talking to the people in the trenches—builders, trades, quality gurus—and sharing what they are seeing in the field, what works, and what doesn’t. Whenever possible, we’ll keep it brief, providing good, solid information you can read on a coffee break or sitting in traffic on the way to a site.”

Information on the Jobsite is divided into the following categories:

  • Risk Management – These articles cover the top customer service and safety issues and will give you the insight you need to better manage risk, retain more of your profits, and spend less time and money each year on warranty claims, legal issues and insurance.
  • Greener Building – This information is designed to help you become more proactive about improving the quality and performance of your homes, and help you open new doors to a growing group of prospective homebuyers – energy and environmentally-minded consumers.
  • People and Process – Here we will share how different departments within a production homebuilding company can contribute to the quality picture and how training, tools and process management can improve your overall productivity and performance.
  • News and Events – What important industry events are coming up? Are there web presentations that could help your business? What new educational tools have been launched? What new features and content have been added to Jobsite? Look to this section for the details.

“Today’s launch of the Jobsite is just the beginning,” says David Ulicne, BuildIQ’s Managing Director. “We are currently working with product suppliers and subject matter experts that we believe are the best in the industry to add their relevant information directly to the content on the Jobsite, as well as our Search results.”

BuildIQ has developed the industry’s first vertical search engine for Best Practices®. The Search box is located at the top of each page, and the results are pulled from the Jobsite itself, leading building material suppliers, and a select group of other industry-related organizations that BuildIQ has identified as knowledgeable resources for Best Practice information. Search results are separated into tabs, so that visitors can easily see what type of organization they are getting their responses from.

If you are interested in keeping up with the latest developments on the Jobsite, you can sign up for our monthly e-newsletter, Jobsite NEWS, which has highlights of valuable articles from each of the three Jobsite sections. Moving forward, we will also be looking to you for feedback. What other topics do you want us to cover? Do you have something to add? Stay tuned to Jobsite.BuildIQ.com for more details.

This is your Jobsite. Please help us make it great!
